Dear Skip!
I had decided to attend the reunion when I first got the invitation. Then you changed the dates from June to September . This makes it impossible for me to come. We have elections in Sweden the 14 th of September and that keeps me very busy!
But since I had planned to go in June I did so anyway. My sister and I had a wonderful three weeks vacation in America . We started of in Chicago where we spent a few days. After that we took the train and crossed the Rocky Mountains and went off in the middle of the night in Salt Lake City . Marsha and Kent met us and we spent five days with them. Five really wonderful days! We visited Bountiful High and all the special places we remembered. We even went to see the house where the Gurr family lived in 1964. We where invited to come inside and that was a real treat!
After SLC we went to New Orleans and stayed there a few days. Exiting! Next stop was in Charleston. A wonderful city with lots of history! Our last stop was New York . On our first morning there a stumbled on the pavement and fell so badly that I among other things broke my arm. So my first day in New York I spent in a emergency hospital. And I realise how well our Swedish system for healthcare works! Anyway, finally we got home after a very interesting trip, and we decided to come back soon.
So I will not, which I really regret, attend the reunion. I hope you will send my greetings to all of them who attend. I will think of you. I am so grateful for that senior year together with all of you in the class of 64! The way you took care of me, helped me around and accepted me as one of your friends - this will always stay in my heart! And if anyone wants to get in touch with me you can give them my mail address! I hope you will have a wonderful weekend together!
Lots of love to all of you,
Barbro Östling (former Ekman)
