Margaret "Marty" Elizabeth Yenchik

Margaret Elizabeth Yenchik was born on November 16, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Vincent Yenchik and Edith Groves and two adoring big brothers, Vince (Joe) and Steve. Marty had a happy, carefree childhood in Bountiful learning from the hardworking example of her father and the delicious cooking of her mother, traits Marty carried into her life.

Marty graduated from Bountiful High in 1964 as a proud Bountiful Brave.

Immediately following graduation, she began working at Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a long distance telephone operator and remained with the company until her retirement 37 years later. Marty was proud of her success in her career and the many friendships she made at work. In particular, Marty’s job blessed her with the lasting friendship of Gayle Green.

A lifelong member of the LDS Church, Marty was delighted six months ago to become part of a forever family as she was sealed to her parents in the Bountiful Temple. She loved her service on the Homemaking Committee and she used her talents of cooking and baking to bless the lives of the women in her ward. Marty was an avid crafter and her friends and family members loved to receive the results of her talents.

Marty passed away peacefully in her home in the early morning of Sunday, June 27, 2021. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Steve. She is survived by her oldest brother, Joseph Vincent Yencik (Brit) and many nieces and nephews related to her by blood and by heart.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E.
