Robert E. “Bobby” Freestone, 70 passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.
He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Robert Eugene and Ellen McKean (Argyle) Freestone. He married Myra D. Holbert on January 30, 1971 in Mesa, Arizona.
He served an LDS mission in the Central Atlantic area.

He earned his BS from Brigham Young University, his MBA from the Pioneer Institute at Purdue University, and attended the University of Minnesota. He also served in the Utah Air National Guard. He was a senior research scientist and soybean geneticist in plant breeding with Pioneer Hybrid. He later operated Bob’s Computer Service.
Survived by: his wife, Myra of Cedar Falls; and his children, Tom (Marie) Freestone, Ben (Shawna) Freestone, James (Lindsay) Freestone, Mark (Misti) Freestone, Ellen (Tim) Buchwald, Emily (Lamar) May, Laura (Alex) Juarez, and 30 grandchildren; his mother, Ellen Freestone of West Bountiful, UT; two brothers, Ronald (Peggie) Freestone, Kevin (Diane) Freestone, and three sisters, Barbara (Lee) Winegar, Tammie (Bruce) Bratsch, Kristine (Guy) Koelling.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sr and brother Lynn Freestone.
Services at Russon Brothers in Bountiful: Viewing from 6-8 p.m Monday November 7, and 9:45-10:45 Tuesday November 8, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.
