Patty (Patricia) Ann Organ Sullivan

Patricia Ann Sullivan - Pat died peacefully at home surrounded by loving family and close friends May 28, 2005. Diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) in March of 1999, Pat fought a courageous and inspired battle, teaching all those she touched how to live with patience, grace and a wonderful spirit. Pat was born in Bremerton, WA (near Seattle) September 8, 1946 to parents Lewis G. And DeLilah J. Organ. Growing up in Burien, she attended Sylvester Jr. High before moving to Bountiful, Utah where she graduated from high school. She then lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming from 1964-1971 where she met and wed Ronald E. Sullivan, her loving and devoted husband of 39 years. Since returning to the Northwest in 1971 she and Ron have lived in the Kent area. Pat retired from Boeing in 2000 after 26 years as a finance analyst for the Defense and Space Group. Pat was an avid athlete, running the Seattle Marathon and participating in distance cycling events. She loved music throughout her life, played guitar with the 9:00 a.m. church group at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (where she was a founding church member), inspired Truthful Reign (the church youth music ministry), and enjoyed a close and special friendship with singer Kathy Mattea and her many fans. To her family and loved ones Pat recently wrote: "Know that I will always love you and may God, our Savior, continue to richly bless each of your lives with His amazing love." Pat is survived by husband Ron, daughter Grifyn Benedict and her husband Justin, granddaughters Hailey (31/2) and Adison (7 months), mother DeLilah Organ, brother Dennis Organ and his wife Bonnie McFarland, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rick and Jane Sullivan, niece Anne Marie Rutt and nephews Mathew Sullivan and Alex Organ. Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 25810 156th Ave. SE, Covington, WA 98042, Saturday June 4 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow on Tuesday, June 7, 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Kent, WA.
