He is the youngest of six children; two brothers preceded him in death; Elmo and Galin Edwards. Three sisters have been a strength to him throughout his life; LaRue, Velma, and Evva Lee.
Herb graduated from Bountiful High School after which he served an LDS mission to the East Central States Mission.
Following his mission he met and fell in love with his eternal companion, Penny Eastman. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on October 11, 1968. Of all his possessions, Herb found the greatest joy in his wife and four children: Lance (Aanika) Edwards, Shalynn (Scott) Morgan, Spencer Edwards, and Blake (Amber) Edwards. He was so proud of them and the choices they made in life.
Herb served in many church leadership positions in his life. He had a big heart and loved helping people. Herb was grateful for his "blessed life". He had a valiant testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a defender of the faith.
His career was retail sales. He operated his own business, The Boot Mill for 20 years and worked retail sales for Sportsman Warehouse, Nordstrom, and Mr. Mac.
Herb loved vacations and family time, especially camping as a family at the Spruces Campground. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his sons camping, fishing and hunting. He said he only needed one daughter because "she was the best".
Herb adored his 14 delightful grandchildren: Cameron, Aimee, Jacob, Isaac, Jackson, Anderson, Ella, Easton, Madeline, Kodiak, Avery, Zachary, Sadie, and Emeline.
